Carson Washington is a small town in Skamania County near the towns of Stevenson and White Salmon and across Cascade Locks on the Oregon side. Carson was first a saw mill town built in the 1870’s and 1880’s. Carson’s claim to fame are the Carson Hot Springs first discovered by Isadore St. Martin in 1876 while on a hunting trip. Martin built the original historical hotel in 1901. Today the hot springs are known as Carson Hot Springs and Resort and feature a bathhouse an golf course.
Nearby attractions include Bonneville Dam built in 1938 where you can see the fish navigate the ladders at an underwater viewing center and Cascade Locks where you can take a ride on the Columbia River Sternwheeler.
Carson Washington is a 55 minute drive from the Portland/Vancouver area. The Bridge of the Gods at Cascade Locks makes for easy access from I-84.
