Lyle, Washington is located on a bluff above the Columbia River and downstream from the Klickitat river. Built on a large Missoula Floods gravel bar Lyle, WA was a stop on Lewis and Clarks exploration. The early name for Lyle was “Klickitat Landing” and was later purchased and platted by John Lyle. Lyle has a small downtown area with restaurants, a museum, a historic hotel, and other businesses. Residential homes surround the downtown area and are perched in the hills overlooking the Columbia River and Mt. Hood.
Lyle is near many popular venues including historical sites, wineries, craft breweries, and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, and rafting. Home to Doug’s Beach, Lyle is a popular site for wind and kite surfing and is a 90-minute drive from Portland.
